Hi, I’m Annette!

This site is a digital repository for my literal analog backlog.

I used to love doing things the old fashioned way - be it scribbling away in grubby notebooks or shooting film instead of digital. I didn’t want to allow myself to edit my prose or photos into oblivion. I suppose there was also fear of exposing the tender underbelly of who I was and what I really thought about… everything.

After years of keeping them to myself, I’ve decided that I want to share my thoughts and funny travel anecdotes with friends who live far away and badger me for words and updates. Other (secondary?) motivations - my arm cramps up when my pen hand can’t keep up with my internal monologue, and I care a lot less about what other humans think of me now.

And so, starting this site/blog/braindump has kicked off the process of digitalising everything I’ve scribbled in the tatty notebooks on my shelves, all the rolls of film that I’ve taken with me across the world, and whatever’s brewing in my mind these days.

I hope whoever reads my words or sees my photos will enjoy the view from where I sit, even if it’s just for 5 minutes.
